Deepest Sympathy

This is always a hard card to make but when a friends older brother passed away a few weeks ago I needed to make her a card. With Deepest Sympathy from High Hopes Rubber Stamps is a pretty stamp to make a card with to pass along condolences. I have made a very CAS card this time around but I also have some ideas to make cards with the sentiment masked off so I can stamp another sentiment in the middle.

I stamped on alcohol marker friendly paper, coloured with Copic markers and cut the stamp out with a rectangle die to fit my A2 size card base. I was thinking about finishing it off with some enamel dots but in the end chose to keep it truly clean and simple.

Puppy Birthday

I have a lot of dog lovers on my birthday card giving list and a lot of them have birthdays coming up over the next few months so I was super excited when "Mr. Moe" was released from the High Hopes Retirement vault! He is one of my favourite stamps - maybe because he reminds me of my dog <wink> - and perfect for a dog lovers birthday card.

After stamping on alcohol marker friendly paper, I coloured with Copic markers and hand fussy cut leaving a thin white edge. Honey Bee stamps had the perfect patterned paper for this cutie so I cut the papers to fit my A2 card base and added a grass die cut to complete my scene. I masked the sentiment off a longer sentiment, stamped it, mounted it on matching card stock and added it to the top of the card. Some colored clear dots finish off my card.

Good Times

The Dancing Divas have been brought out of the High Hopes retirement vault and are enjoying a night out on the town at a dance hall with a heart shaped disco ball!?!  I have a few friends that when we go out, even when we have planned our evening we always end up somewhere else doing something spontaneous and fun just like the Divas.

I created a special background for them using inks stencils, water splats and Stickles.

After stamping on alcohol marker friendly paper, I coloured with Copic markers and hand fussy cut the stamps. I set them aside and chose the ink colours and stencil for the background.

The background was inspired by an image I saw online and when I saw it I decided to put my spin on it with the products I had in my craft room. I started by cutting a white piece of card stock to fit the card base (5.5"w x 5.5"h) - it is cut a bit smaller then the black card stock base and added some die cut circles to mimic the lights.

I took each ink colour and added it to the paper over top of the circle die cuts (they were removed when I was done) and used some of the darker colours through the stencil to add the dots around the edges. The outside edge is blended with black ink to add to the depth of the card. Next, I sprayed some water on my fingers and spritzed it onto the background. When that was dry I used a different stencil to add the Stickles dots for some added sparkle.

At this point I was happy with the background......but something was missing! So I found a free silhouette image of people dancing and printed it off. I cut out the inside of the images - this is opposite to normal fussy cutting when you cut the outside - and when that was done, I laid it on my card and using it as a stencil, added them lightly in the background with black ink.

I added a piece of grey wood patterned paper for the dance floor, inking the edges in black first. I couldn't find a circle "disco ball" in my stash so I ended up using a sparkly heart. After gluing down the Divas, some enamel dots and a sentiment finish off my card.

My Favorite

How adorable are these two!?! My son's fiance loves sloths so when I saw the Sloth Love stamp from High Hopes Rubber Stamps I knew I had to make a card for her with them. My son may even want this card to give her........but if he doesn't, I will put some birthday wishes inside for her.

After stamping on alcohol marker friendly paper, I coloured with Copic markers and hand fussy cut the stamp. I went around the edges with a black marker to get any white I may have missed. An old paper pad from Bo Bunny was perfect for my card design so I cut everything to fit my A2 card base. I used some watercolor paper for the circle background behind them.

All the paper edges were inked with Tea Dye Distress ink before I glued down the layers. The sentiment is one long sentiment but I cut it after stamping it and put it on matching card stock. A cute ribbon bow, some flowers with diamond painting drills in the centre and some enamel dots finish off my card.

Birthday Hummingbird

I have a standing card order every year around this time. My Mom has a longtime friend who's birthday is in March and every year she asks me to make a card for her to go with her gift.

Her friend loves pink and yellow and I usually try to do flowers for her because she loves flowers. This year my Mom told me after her lunch date that her friend has kept every card I have made for her. This just warms my heart and I am always super happy to do the card because my Mom is always so excited to see what I come up with and give it to her friend. This year I used a retired stamp called Sweet Hummingbird from Your Next Stamp. She loved her card!

I stamped on alcohol maker friendly paper, coloured with Copic markers and cut the stamp out with a pleated lace die. I set it aside and cut some patterned paper from Cocoa Vanilla and Kaisercraft to fit my A2 size base. I added some ribbon before gluing them down. I glued down the stamp, added the bow on top and finished it off with some enamel dots. I stamped the sentiment, cut it with a fish tail die, mounted it on matching cardstock and added it under the stamp.

Falling For You

I love when the High Hopes Retirement vault is opened and some of the cutest stamps come back. This week the vault has been opened and the adorable Floating Hedgie is back in the High Hopes line up. It is hard not to smile with him....he is having so much fun!

We had an old shed in our back yard growing up and my brothers and I had a discussion a few times about using a towel or a blanket to jump off the roof to see if we could fly.......some how I think my Mom is very happy we didn't go through with testing that out! We will leave the cuteness and flying with a blanket to Floating Hedgie I think <wink>

I stamped on alcohol marker friendly paper, coloured with Copic markers and hand fussy cut the stamp. Patterned paper from Mintay, Echo Park and MFT were a perfect combination to create my scene. After cutting the papers to fit the 5.5"x 5.5" base, I added a strip of grass and some flowers to give him a place to land. I added some clouds to the sky and the stamp was added with foam pop dots. The sentiment was stamped, cut and mounted to matching card stock. Enamel dots finish off my card.

Crazy For You

The High Hopes retirement vault has opened and these adorable piglets decided they want to come out and be part of the fun. I have a girlfriend who loves pigs and I think this is perfect for her and her significant other. They are perfect for an Anniversary, Valentine's Day or I love you card don't you think?

After stamping these cuties on alcohol marker friendly paper, I coloured them with Copic markers and hand fussy cut them. I set them aside and found a patterned paper combination from an Echo Park paper pad meant for babies but they worked perfectly for this pair. I cut them to fit my A2 size card base, cut card stock to fit and glued them down. I added some ribbon before gluing down the centre pieces and did a simple knot instead of a bow. Next I stamped the sentiment, put it on matching card stock and added it to the design. The piglets are added with foam dots. Some die cut hearts and enamel dots finish off my card.
